REVIEW: KRAVE'S KALE-LALU-YAHA

MY SKINCARE HERO DURING THIS PANDEMIC

Hello guys! I hope everyone’s fine and doing okay especially during this pandemic. I honestly can’t wait for all of this to be over soon and see my friends and family and to start traveling again. With us on lockdown it gave me a lot of free time. I was able to focus more on my skincare routine which is why I would like to share my thoughts on one product that has helped my skin in terms of brightening and pore minimizing. And that is Krave’s Kale-lalu-yAHA toner. My skin is combination oily and this is not the first time i’ve tried acids. I have used acids in the past namely Coxrx’s Whitehead Power Liquid and Pixi’s Overnight Glow Serum. It’s been a while though since i’ve last used one and i’ve noticed that prior to lockdown, my skin was already looking dull and uneven in texture. Kale-lalu-yAHA was something I wanted to try since its release but doubted that it might not give me results because of its low AHA percentage. But I took the chance and purchased one.

Krave’s Kale-lalu-yAHA description from the website:
“Skin resurfacing exfoliator that kicks your dead skin cells to the curb, revealing youthful, healthier skin while also feeding it delicious antioxidants from dark, leafy greens. Kiss good-bye to the appearance of discoloration, sun damage, and fine lines with regular use.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Water, Butylene glycol, Brassi
ca Oleracea Acephala Leaf (Kale) Extract, Glycolic acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Spinacia Oleracea (Spinach) Leaf Extract, Carum Petroselinum (Parsley) Extract, Chlorella Minutissima Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit (Green apple) Extract, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Betaine Salicylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Pseudozyma Epicola/Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil/Glucose/Yeast Extract Ferment Filtrate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Bacillus/Folic acid/Soybean ferment extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Malachite Extract, Polysorbate80, Disodium EDTA

According to Krave’s website, you can use Kale-lalu-yAHA 2-3 times a week using a cotton pad. But since i’m not new to acids, I apply the product every night. I apply the product directly to my skin after washing my face. Also, in terms of smell, it smells like a typical exfoliant which is a chemically scent. And I initially thought that the packaging was glass. It’s actually plastic.

My thoughts:
The first night I used Kale-lalu-yAHA, I was expecting to see results the next day but I got disappointed. My blackheads remain visible and pores were still large. One thing has improved though. I noticed that when I washed my face in the morning it felt soft and smooth. So I didn’t give up on the product so easily. I continued using it for a week and that’s when I started to see results on my skin. The blackheads on my nose were smaller, pores on my cheeks shrunk and looked smoother, and my laugh lines have diminished. In terms of keeping the oils on my face at bay, I don’t think it has done much. But this exfoliant did give me a slight glow and smoothed out my uneven texture.

The only downside for me about this product is that it didn’t really help much with my blackheads. They look smaller but they’re still there. But then again, this exfoliating toner only contains 5.25% AHA. And I overall love the results it has given me. Another plus is that for one bottle it’s a lot of product that’s made to last for months. I would absolutely recommend Kale-lalu-yAHA for those who are new to acids and would like to try them and also for those wanting to give their skin a healthy glow.
